I noticed my site was getting hammered with comment spam attempts over the past two days. To ease participation and interactivity, I have comments open to anyone who cares to leave a comment (not that it happens often). To prevent waves of spam I use the Mollom module, and it works absolutely great.
A quick look at the various administration pages reveals no spammy comments made it past Mollom and no dubious comments are awaiting my approval. At its peak, the spam wave reached 2156 attempts per day. In other words, Mollom did its job fully automatically and with 100% precision. What an awesome tool!
Update - May 21, 2010: I am including the latest Mollom statistics instead of the original image. Two things jump out: Spam attempts at my site come in unpredictable waves, and Mollom blocks them all.
